Our Story

Why Blastily Exists

It started with a simple problem.

Chapter 01 — The problem

A new state. A telecom. And no one to call.

Our founder found herself in a new state, working for a telecom company that was expanding into the area. The company needed local advertising, which meant finding billboards, radio stations, publications and other ways to get in front of people in a market where nobody knew them yet.

There was just one problem.

Our founder didn’t know anybody there either.

No media contacts. No local advertising Rolodex. No one to call and say, “Hey, we need a billboard.”

So she started searching.

Chapter 02 — The searching

Phone calls for something that should have been simple.

She found billboard numbers online and called them one by one. She called to find out who owned the space, who was responsible for advertising and whether they could even help her.

Then she would call another one.

And another.

It was a lot of phone calls for something that felt like it should have been incredibly simple.

And to make the situation even more interesting, she wasn’t permanently living in the area. She was staying in an Airbnb while working on the expansion.

So there she was, sitting in an Airbnb, trying to piece together an entire local advertising ecosystem through Google searches and phone calls.

And somewhere between finding the fifth billboard number and making yet another call, a question came to mind.

Why is this not an app?

Chapter 03 — The questions

Why should it feel like detective work?

Why should finding advertising space feel like detective work?

Why should a business owner have to search the internet, collect phone numbers, send emails, make calls and hope they eventually reach the right person just to advertise their business?

Why couldn’t businesses simply open an app, search for the marketing channels they needed, see what was available and get started?

That question eventually became Blastily.

Chapter 04 — Blastily is born

Make marketing easier to find.

The first idea was simple. Make marketing easier to find.

Instead of searching separately for billboards, radio, publications, PR opportunities, podcasts, creators, influencers, television and other advertising channels, what if businesses could find them all in one place?

So Blastily was built around that idea.

And it worked.

Businesses started using the platform. Brands were getting visibility. Marketing opportunities that were previously difficult to find were becoming easier to discover.

Because getting visibility is great.
But what happens after people see you?

Chapter 05 — The unexpected turn

They didn’t want to stop there.

But then something unexpected happened.

The businesses didn’t want to stop there. They started asking for more.

Because getting visibility is great. But what happens after people see you?

That question became the next chapter of Blastily.

A business could get featured on television. It could appear on a billboard. It could be mentioned in a publication. It could be promoted through a podcast. It could run an advertising campaign and get thousands of impressions.

But visibility alone doesn’t pay the bills.

The gap

Someone has to sell.

  • 01Someone still has to turn that attention into a lead.
  • 02Someone has to follow up.
  • 03Someone has to nurture the prospect.
  • 04Someone has to get them onto the website.
  • 05Someone has to convince them to take the next step.
  • 06Someone has to sell.

Chapter 06 — The realisation

Getting through the door wasn’t enough.

Blastily could help businesses get through the door. But they needed help once they got inside.

That realisation changed everything.

Because Blastily wasn’t just solving an advertising problem anymore. It was solving a growth problem.

Our founder had spent years working across branding, marketing, websites, advertising, communications and sales. She had seen what happens when businesses get attention but don’t have the systems behind the attention.

She had seen businesses spend money on advertising and then send people to websites that weren’t ready.

She had seen businesses generate leads and fail to follow up.

She had seen campaigns create visibility without creating a clear path to purchase.

And she knew that the problem wasn’t always that businesses weren’t marketing enough.

Sometimes they were marketing everywhere. They just weren’t connecting the pieces.

Chapter 07 — The bigger vision

Don’t just help businesses get seen.

Help them know what to do after they are seen.

And that is where Blastily began evolving from a marketing marketplace into something much bigger.

A platform designed to bring visibility, marketing technology, automation and growth together.

Because getting noticed is only the beginning.
The real question is what happens next.
